Jake Dungan

Jake Dungan is a proud Akron, Ohio native and lifelong Cleveland Indians fan. Currently enrolled as a communications student at Stark State College, he hopes to become a professional baseball columnist and reporter.

Though his earliest childhood recollections involve going to Tribe games as early as 1997, it wasn’t until 2007 when the Indians defied the odds and came one game shy of their first American League pennant in ten years that Jake fell in love with baseball and became a devout follower of the game.

In addition to baseball, Jake also enjoys a good game of football both college and pro. In keeping with the local pride, his favorite teams are the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

One of Jake’s main hobbies is music. He can rock out on both piano and bass and currently plays with a couple different bands part-time. Anything rock ‘n’ roll, especially classic rock, is the best way to describe his taste in music. From The Beatles to The Black Keys and just about everything in between, Jake loves them all.

Other favorite pastimes include fishing and golf, that is of course when Ohio whether permits it. When there’s no game on, Jake also enjoys kicking back and watching classic sitcom reruns as well as listening to podcasts. During the summer, you can also find him hanging out at the park with his dog.

For the 2014 season, Jake is employed as an intern with the Indians AA minor league affiliate Akron RubberDucks where he works in various areas of ballpark operations and gets to watch the development of Indians prospects first-hand.
