Sam was born in 1971 to a mom who loves his dad and a dad who loves the Cleveland Indians, so much so they named him after "Sudden Sam" McDowell. As a boy, Sam liked to collect and memorize stats on baseball cards and also, much like his dad, became a long suffering Indians fan. Through the lows of the 70s and 80s to the highs of the 90s and some of the 2000s, Sam has stayed true as an Indians fan. In 2001, Sam married his wife, Kristin, who is a native Ohioan. She was a Cincinnati Reds fan, but Sam turned her into an Indians fan, even if begrudgingly. They lived in Strongsville, OH for six years, allowing them to go to The Jake to watch The Tribe.
Sam's other passions over the years has been coaching youth baseball and he is also an avid golfer. Now residing in Myrtle Beach, SC, Sam was thrilled to be a guest on the local radio station's baseball show, talking all things Major League Baseball. Sam looks forward to bringing the Indians fans insightful, enjoyable articles. He is also a fantasy baseball aficionado who plans on bringing the fantasy perspective to IBI.
