In the 18th round, the Cleveland Indians select: C Dwight Childs - University of Arizona, 6"2" 150 lbs.

UPDATE (5:11 PM EST): Jeff Ellis
Dwight Childs is an excellent defensive catcher from Arizona. Yes, once again the Indians mined the state of Arizona for talent this draft. He was the 34th ranked player in the state of Arizona by Baseball America. He played on the 2005 USA baseball team that included many future big leaguers. After a weak sophomore year were he hit under .200, Childs rebounded this year to hit .331. His defense is beyond question, it is what will be his ticket to the majors. He has a plus arm behind the plate and can get the ball out to second in under two seconds. There could be some comps between him and current Indians prospect Wyatt Toregas.
