With their 14th round pick in the 2012 MLB Draft the Cleveland Indians select RHP Michael Peoples out of Western Oklahoma State College.

Birthdate: 9/5/1991--Height: 6'5"--Weight: 190 lbs--Bats: Right--Throws: Right

Jeff Ellis: Micheal  Peoples is a big, 6'5", righty out of Western Oklahoma State. He is currently a sophomore there.  He put up a 3.33 era in college, with a 1.52 WHIP, and a 3:1 strike out to walk ratio. he did show some wildness by hitting 9 guys in 70 innings this year.  This guy is a major ghost, he isn't even listed on PGcrosschecker, which is a first for me. Someone must have really liked Peoples, and gone to bat for him. I imagine he will sign, but outside of telling you he is big and can be wild, there is not a lot I can pass on about his skill set.

Jim's Quick Take: The only listing available online is for Michael Peoples, so I have to imagine that he's either using a middle name, or the draft screwed up. I don't know a thing about this kid, other than the fact that he's big, and likely a highly projectable, unknown arm. Hell, they even screwed up his name. Of course, the first person I thought of when I heard the name was Danny Peoples, the 1996 first rounder for the Tribe. This could be one of those darts in the night, that the Indians are throwing thinking they can get in the door of an unknown with these new draft rules.

Michael was always known for his baseball talent! He has been playing so has plenty of amateur miles on that arm! He is a great player and probably will be one of those major ghost. Great player, great person. Can't wait to see how far he goes!

Thats his full name but family calls him by his middle name and so do friends. He really prefers Michael but his full name is Scott Michael Peoples. He goes by either.

What your saying is true, but with other players I can find a local story about them. I write capsules were I can find some story that is based on at least local news, only other guy I ever found nothing on was Nick Bartolome

Everyone finds a way, and I am not knocking him just saying really hard to find info

I agree with Rick.

Besides, there were some players that were drafted last year that were major ghosts as well, and they seem to be paying off thus far. Sometimes you just never know.

I know it's rare to find guys w/o a PG profile. That just means that he didn't play on a high level summer ball team. It also would me he didn't shell out $500 to attend a PG showcase. But guys who end up at smaller schools like W. Ok. St. would be guys that really wanted to go there and all you need to do is impress 1 guy in a HS game, showcase or camp. Or maybe he doesn't have a lot of amateur miles on that arm.
