2012 Indians 31st round pick: OF Daniel Holst
In the 31st round of the 2012 MLB Draft the Cleveland Indians have selected outfielder Daniel Holt out of Parkway South Senior High School (MO).
Date of birth: 8/1/1993 - Height: 5’11” - Weight: 165 - Bats: Left - Throws: Right
Quick take: Holst was a shortstop in high school, but the Indians have him listed as a center fielder so it looks like they are banking on his athleticism to make the transition there. He is a Texas A&M commit.
Jeff Ellis: Daniel Holst was moved from centerfield to shortstop this year. The Indians must have liked him better in the outfield because when they drafted him they announced him as an outfielder. He is committed to Texas A&M and was recruited by schools such as Kansas as well. He is a guy with good speed who might be one of those ultimate utility types who could play all over the diamond for the right team. He is another extremely hard sign because of the lateness of his pick and the level of school he is committed to.
