In the 29th round of the 2013 Draft the Cleveland Indians select third baseman Ridge Smith from Germantown High School (TN).

Born: 04/26/1995 - Height: 5'9" - Weight: 190 - Bats: Right - Throws: Right

Jeff Ellis: He continues the biggest trend in this draft which is drafting guys under six feet tall. It's been kind of amazing as starting with Frazier it's been approaching ten players at this point. I am not sure why he is listed as a third baseman and not a catcher. He is a fairly polished catcher for a high school kid with a good arm. He has some athleticism, moves well, and shows good bat speed.  A well known guy on the showcase circuit, and will have to be signed away from Austin Peay which could be tricky.
