2013 IPI Positional Rankings: The Shortstops

Today we continue our 2013 prospect coverage here at the IPI with another positional rankings piece on the Cleveland Indians farm system. This time we will review the shortstops.

The Indians are regarded as having a below average farm system, mostly because of the lack of near ready Major League options of impact quality at the Triple-A and Double-A level. But if there is one position where they are highly regard and are loaded with both grade-A talent and tons of depth, it is at shortstop. Most of that elite talent is still a few years away from the big leagues, but every starting shortstop expected to play at their four affiliates next season have legit Major League potential, which is something rarely seen for any organization.
