It’s been awhile since we last posted a Hot List. Such is the way things work once the draft season kicks in. The IBI's Tony Lastoria is back in the saddle today after spending the last three and a half days at a state baseball tournament in Columbus. With that in mind, he uses today's update to get us all caught up on the news from over the weekend as the Indians officially inked a few players, agreed to terms with several more and got official word from some others that they are not signing - not to mention there is all kinds of other news surrounding unsigned picks.

Yesterday the IBI's Tony Lastoria provided signing updates on 19 of the Indians 42 draft picks from the 2014 MLB Draft. He has since been busy contacting people and today provides updates on 12 players, with four of them officially signed and four more who say they will sign. Four of the updates are on top 10 round picks and another four are on top 20 rounders.

The 2013 MLB Draft is now in the rearview mirror which means the signing process has begun. Here is a first rundown of news on some things happening with Indians draft picks. The Indians had some big hitting performances Around the Farm on Sunday, but the biggest one of them all came from High-A Carolina third baseman Yandy Diaz who racked up five hits. Okay, two days are in the books, now for the fun (and insanity) that is the final day of the draft. Today the Indians will make selections in the 11th through 40th rounds and then things will end. Today the draft kicks back up at 1pm ET and will only cover rounds 3-10. As each pick is made today we will have info up literally minutes after it is announced. This is a quick note that I am posting to the site to remind everyone that the picks for today will not show on the front page or in the front page slider. They will all post to the newswire to the right and in the "News" section at the top of the site.

The Indians made four selections on the first day of the 2014 MLB Draft on Thursday picking up college outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Mike Papi along with prep pitchers Justus Sheffield and Grant Hockin. This was a big night for the Indians as they had three first round picks and a chance with such a deep draft to really bring in some top shelf talent into the system. The Indians won their fifth game in a row and eighth straight at home with a 5-3 win against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. Lefty T.J. House pitched well and aside from a hiccup in the middle innings the bullpen locked it down late to preserve the win.
