When the deal for Brandon Moss first started to break almost a week ago the IBI's Jeff Ellis half joked that most of the fans would hate the deal for a myriad of reasons: he is hurt, he has a low average and he isn’t a right-handed bat. Even when it is clearly an excellent addition at a low price, some people don't like it. In his latest, he does his best to convince some of the naysayers that he is a good fit with little given up to acquire him.

The IBI's Jeff Ellis believes there is not a team who has more ready-made talent in or near the majors. They do have issues in terms of depth when it comes to pitching, but in terms of bats the Red Sox are almost two deep with a legit possible starter at every position on the diamond. He takes a look at possible trade fits between the Indians and Red Sox.

The Indians are going to explore a lot of trades this offseason, many upon many of which will not come to fruition. Some of their key players like Michael Brantley, Corey Kluber and Yan Gomes are untouchable, but in the right deal some of their core pieces could be dealt. One of those players is second baseman, and while a trade may ultimately not happen this offseason, the IBI's Jeff Ellis looks at four trades he would consider for Kipnis.

While the MLB postseason is not over, the Hot Stove season has already begun. The minute teams have ended their season or been eliminated from the playoffs we have had writers who are not close to teams making pronouncements that certain players are already on the market. One of those was a claim by ESPN's Buster Olney that the Athletics will put third baseman Josh Donaldson on the market this offseason. The IBI's Jeff Ellis believes he would be a great fit if he is available, but the cost to acquire him would be enormous.

The IBI's Jeff Ellis chimed in on Monday with his thoughts as to why the Indians should go after Adrian Beltre in a trade this offseason. Today, Jeff takes a look at three lesser players that may not cost as much to acquire in terms of dollars or prospects, though come with a little more risk and less of a track record.

A few months back the IBI's Jeff Ellis brought up what was then a more controversial view that the Indians should strongly look to trade Lonnie Chisenhall. At the time Chisenhall still looked like a breakout candidate and was not that far removed from being a potential all-star, but he held by the numbers which showed he was in for a massive regression, which we are seeing now. He looks into why the Indians should consider trading him and what they do with his spot in the lineup.
