The AZL Indians seem to be loaded with offense, but the focus in week three seemed to be on the starting pitching. 2012 Fifth round pick Dylan Baker made his pro debut, and 2011 second round pick Dillon Haward continued his progression through the system. Kieran Lovegrove and Mitch Brown were also readying themselves for potential moves as well. Join IPI's Sean Mahon with an exclusive look at the rookie league!

Calhoun, GA native and this year’s 7th round pick Joshua McAdams really made his mother’s drive from Georgia to Arizona a worthwhile one yesterday night. The AZL Indians would win courtesy a walk off knock from McAdams in the 11th inning after a three run comeback to tie it in the 9th inning.

It was a chaotic nine inning game of baseball last night as the AZL Indians pitching was bruised and battered for 17 runs off 21 hits to accommodate 5 errors in the field in a 17-15 loss to the D-Backs. The Indians 2012 5th round pick Dylan Baker started the game and looked to have some nerves on the mound in his professional debut.

It is about time. The defense and pitching finally meshed last night as lefty Luis Lugo threw the game of the year for the AZL Indians to date and helped lead his team to a 3-1 win over the AZL Royals. Lugo went five innings giving up just two hits and one walk.

Defensive woes, a lack of hitting and a tendency to give up moon shots triggered the AZL Indians’ troubles on Monday night as they were trounced by the AZL Dodgers, 13-3. Bladimir Franco and Tyler Ogle of the Dodgers made a home run derby of their own hitting mountainous home runs in the desert off of Jeffrey Cleto.

The AZL Indians capitalized on two of the Diamondbacks’ four errors in the 8th inning to salvage their sixth victory of the season, setting them only two games under .500 and in second place in the AZL Central standings.

Week two of the Arizona League rookie season saw the AZL Indians' offense really take off, led by Jorge Martinez and Dorssys Paulino. There's some talented offense in Arizona that will be interesting to watch going forward. The pitching staff is "led" by Dillon Howard, who is looking to showcase the arm that the Indians picked up with the #2 pick in 2011. Is he a stud, or a dud? Check out his year to date...after the jump...

The AZL Indians offense looked poised early as they had three hits in the first inning which included a Jorge Martinez RBI double. However, more early pitching woes that allowed runs to score in each of the first four innings ended up being too much for the young Tribe.

The AZL Indians scored in five of their eight innings last night as the offense was in full swing in a 14-8 victory. Dorssys Paulino crushed a two-run homer in the bottom of the 1st to put the Tribe on the board early and gave them a lead they would not lose.

The AZL Indians pitching and defense struggled again last night as the team dropped another game, 7-3 to the AZL Athletics. Left-hander Matt Packer started the game on his rehab assignment and pitched a scoreless inning, and should be back up in Akron in no time.

The AZL Indians (1-3) dropped their third game of the season as they were outslugged on Sunday night, 12-9 to the AZL Athletics. Despite an early three spot put on the board courtesy of a bases loaded clearing triple by Eric Haase, the Tribe pitching struggled.

It was a slugfest in Goodyear on Saturday night. Any hitting shortages seen in the season’s first two contests were forgiven after the AZL Indians mashed 19 hits, yielding 13 runs as the Tribe trumped the AZL Brewers. Ryan Battaglia, who really struggled in his previous 10 AB’s that included 6 strikeouts, bounced back in a positive fashion as he went 2-4 with 3 RBIs including a double a triple
