Even rain couldn’t cool off a surging Indians offense, as they completed the series sweep over their division rival White Sox Sunday afternoon, 7-1. After a rain delay of four hours and 23 minutes delayed the start time of the ballgame, it took the Tribe just two hours and 39 minutes to win their fourth straight over the last place Pale Hose. More importantly, the victory marks the first time since 2008 Cleveland has won 81 games in a season, as they continue to make their way toward October. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...

Another game on Chicago’s Southside, and another win for your Cleveland Indians. After a scoreless tie between both club’s through three innings, the Tribe offense unleashed two homers for a five run fourth to give them the lead they would never surrender. Indians bats roughed up White Sox right-hander Andre Rienzo for five runs on seven hits in just four innings. Tribe starter Ubaldo Jimenez took a shutout in the ninth inning, and pulled away with his best start as a member of the Indians.

A crowd of 34,494 were on hand at Progressive Field to watch the Tribe battle the Kansas City Royals this past homestand. There’s just one problem. That was the total combined attendance for the entire three-game series. The IBI's Jim Berdysz takes a deep look into the attendance issue for the Indians and tries to tackle the reason behind why people continue to stay away even with the team in the thick of the playoff race.

Big game? Not a problem for Big Game James. Royals starter James Shields (11-9, 3.38 ERA) lived up to his nickname Wednesday afternoon, as he shutdown the Indians offense to two runs on just two hits defeating the Tribe, 6-2. In the rubber match with wild card hopes very much alive for both clubs, Kansas City sneaks out of town winning the final two games of the three-game series.

A three-run sixth inning by the Royals was too much to overcome for the Tribe, as they fell to Kansas City Tuesday night, 6-3. The Indians had the bats going in the contest as the team recorded 12 hits, but unfortunately was unable to string some hits together and could only muster the three runs. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps all the action from the tough Tribe defeat.

Lookout Tribe Town, there’s a new Ramirez in town! In an early September battle for a wild card spot, the Indians kept doing what they have continue to do all season long; grind out wins. Monday night showed just that as the Tribe squeezed past the Royals, 4-3 to take game one of the three-game series. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps Ubaldo's strong start, Ramirez's first big league hit and more ninth inning drama.

There would be no magic at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario like there was 18 years ago, just one familiar foe. Clinching their first ever division title on Sept. 8, 1995, the only thing the Indians clinched on Sunday was their first loss in four games. Cleveland had chances to cash in offensively, but couldn't get that big hit like they have during the first two games of the series. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on the tough loss...

Meet the Mets, meet the Mets, step right up and BEAT the Mets! It was another offensive explosion for the Tribe on Saturday, as the team took down the struggling New York Mets for the second straight night, 9-4. Offensively, Cleveland continues to put up big numbers scoring 17 runs over the first two games of the three-game weekend series. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts....

There would be no need to sacrifice a live chicken to give the Tribe a victory Wednesday night. Before the rubber match against the Orioles, the team got an unexpected September call-up from the farm. Reliever Cody Allen and other members of the bullpen brought in a chicken to try and keep the team loose. That and some timely hitting and good bullpen work led to an important 6-4 win for the Indians.

On a holiday dedicated to the working world, the Indians themselves took a day off on the field. The struggling Tribe offense was at it again Monday, scoring just two runs to drop the first of a three-game series with the Orioles, 7-2. The heart of Tribe fans also skipped a beat when ace Justin Masterson left the ballgame in the second inning due to soreness in his left rib cage. Join IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps another frustrating loss on Labor Day.

Much needed? You could say that again. For more than a week now, the Tribe had been looking for that one big hit from the struggling Cleveland offense. Deadlocked in a scoreless tie in the ninth inning Sunday, they finally got that hit with one swing of the bat from third baseman Mike Aviles. Join IBI's Jim Berdysz as he shares his second thoughts on a huge Tribe victory.

No Miggy, no problem. Even without Miguel Cabrera in the Tigers lineup, Detroit still handed Cleveland their fifth straight loss defeating them, 10-5. Five runs on nine his even for the Indians wouldn't be enough in the heart of Motown, as the Tigers exploded for 10 runs on 15 hits offensively. IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his Second Thoughts on a another dismal Tribe loss.

Hoping to help their offensive woes, the Indians have reportedly acquired outfielder Jason Kubel in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for a minor league pitcher and cash. The deal is expected to be announced on Friday and the IBI's Jim Berdysz gives some quick notes on the trade.

A roadtrip that had the chance to become a nightmare for the Tribe is starting to turn into a reality. It was another forgettable night for the Indians offense Thursday, as the Braves edged Cleveland, 3-1 to sweep the three-game Interleague series. Although they outhit Atlanta 22-21 in the series, the Tribe was outscored 8-3 in 27 innings, never getting that big hit offensively.

The stymied Indians offense may be the coldest thing in the heart of Hotlanta. Tribe Bats fell in a deep freeze again at Turner Field Wednesday, falling to the Braves in a nail bitter for the second straight night, 3-2. Right-hander Justin Masterson (14-9, 3.49 ERA) gave his team another quality start, allowing two runs on five hits through six innings.

Even a few knocks on wood couldn’t cure the struggling Indians offense. Playing at Turner Field for the fourth time since Game 6 of the 1995 World Series, the Braves blanked Cleveland Tuesday night, 2-0. The Tribe outhit the Braves 6-3 in the contest, but unfortunately squandered multiple scoring opportunities. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps all the action from the tough Tuesday night loss.

It doesn’t matter how ugly it may be, a win is always a win no matter how you look at it. Except for one swing of the bat by right-handed hitter Drew Stubbs and the arm of left-handed starter Scott Kazmir, things weren't so pretty even on a picture perfect day at Progressive Field. Despite a season-high four errors in the ballgame, the Tribe squeezed past the Twins late, 3-1, to win the three-game series over Minnesota.

Things were about as easy as they come for the Tribe on Saturday, as they cruised to a 7-2 victory over the last place Minnesota Twins to win their 70th game of the season. Indians starter Zach McAllister (7-7, 3.51 ERA) held the last place team in the A.L. Central to just two runs on four hits, walking two and striking out five. The team also played some long ball against Twins starter Liem Hendriks (0-2, 6.20 ERA), improving to a season-high 36-5 when scoring six runs or more in a ballgame.

Even the bright sun of Tinseltown couldn't out shine the blazing Tribe. A two-run homer by the Tribe first baseman and another quality start from ace Justin Masterson (14-9, 3.50 ERA) was more than enough against the last place Angles, as the Indians defeated the Halos 3-1 to sweep the three-game series. Join IBI's Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action.
