There have been some strange Cleveland Indians' games in the years, but perhaps few have been any stranger than what we saw Friday. After more than four hours of rain delays, the Cleveland Indians fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 9-2 Friday. The weather was not the only ugly thing about the contest either as the Indians mustered only one hit. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he provides all the play-by-play and recaps the unforgettable night.

The victory ends the Tribe’s five game losing streak, moving the team just 1.5 games in back of the first place Detroit Tigers in the American League Central Division. For eight innings, the Indians looked as though they could escape Boston with a series split. Then, the top of the ninth inning came along as did closer Chris Perez. It wasn’t the long ball that hurt Pure Rage on Sunday, but rather the strike zone. Perez just couldn’t find any of the four corners of the strike zone, blowing both the save and the game for Cleveland. The Red Sox scored four runs off the closer in the inning, in route to a devastating 6-5 loss for the Tribe.

Saturday was just one of those days. On yet another rainy day in historical Fenway Park, the Indians fell late and lost their second game of the four-game series to the Red Sox, 7-4. Recently winning 18 of their last 22 ballgames, the Tribe is now 1-4 in their last five games and just 1-5 in six games against Boston this season. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on a tough loss for the Indians...

Just as the rain fell Wednesday night, so did the Tribe Thursday morning. After nine innings and two rain delays totaling one hour 50 minutes, the Detroit Tigers took down the Tribe 11-7, sweeping the two-game series at Progressive Field. Having won 18 of 22 coming into the highly anticipated matchup, Motown made quick work of Cleveland outscoring them 16-8 in the series.

There have been plenty of good nights for the Cleveland Indians as of late but unfortunately Tuesday was not one of them. The Tribe mustered only three hits and fell 5-1 to the Detroit Tigers. Max Scherzer did his best Justin Verlander impression, and the Indians' offense was stymied all night. Join Jim Berdysz as he looks back at all the action after the jump...

Crazy may be in fact an understatement to describe the series finale between the Indians and Mariners Monday afternoon. Ten innings and three hours and forty-eight minutes later, Cleveland would come out with their biggest win of the season, defeating Seattle 10-8 pulling it off once again in dramatic fashion. Tribe catcher Yan Gomes delivered on a walk-off three run homer to give Cleveland a victory and a four-game series sweep of Seattle.

In what looked like it had the chance to be a pitcher’s duel in the making between the Tribe and Mariners was all but one-sided Sunday afternoon. Heading into Sunday, the Indians were a remarkable 6-1 on the year against former Cy Young Award winners, and now, they’ve dethroned a “King” and go to 7-1. Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts as the Indians go for another four-game sweep at Progressive Field.

Less than 24 hours after second baseman Jason Kipnis sent more than 34,000 fans home on a walk-off three-run homer Friday night, the Indians got some more late inning heroics Saturday afternoon courtesy of third baseman Mark Reynolds. With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the ninth, Reynolds delivered on a game-winning infield fielder's choice to give the Tribe the 5-4 win and their third straight victory. It was a tale of two similar, yet totally different ballgames in the makeup doubleheader against the New York Yankees on Monday. When the dust settled, Cleveland would split the twin bill between their AL East rivals as both games came via the shutout. One word to describe game one: Masterful.

It was a nail biter in the heart of Motown Saturday night, as the Tribe snuck by their Central Division rival Detroit Tigers, 7-6. What looked to be an easy win against ace Justin Verlander with Cleveland up 6-1 in the seventh inning, ultimately fell apart late by the Indians bullpen.

All offseason long, Tribe fans heard about that "team up north". Last year the Detroit Tigers were not only the reigning American League Central Division Champions, but won the AL Pennant for the second time in the last seven years. Tonight the Indians and that "team up north" tangle in the first of several Central Division showdowns this weekend, and the IBI's Jim Berdysz preview the important early season series.

Just when you thought you’ve see it all in Major League Baseball, you really haven’t. Coming into the ballgame winners of seven of their last eight, the Indians stayed red hot on Wednesday, as they won their third straight over the Oakland Athletics 4-3. Another team victory was thanks in large part to more great starting pitching and a little luck. Cleveland benefited from a controversial call in the ninth inning as Chris Perez looked for (and succeeded at getting) the save. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps all the action, after the jump...
