Ubaldo Jimenez was on the mound again for the Indians on Tuesday, but the only consistent thing about Jimenez's performances so far has been inconsistency and that was again the case on Tuesday. The right-hander walked five batters in one inning, and the Tribe never recovered, losing 7-2 to the Boston Red Sox. Chicago starter Jake Peavy kept the Cleveland bats quiet for seven innings and Paul Konerko hit a two-run home run off Brett Myers as the White Sox beat the Indians 3-1 in the Sunday finale of a three-game series. The Cleveland Indians faced off against the Tampa Bay Rays looking at the potential of not only being swept in their second series of the year, but had yet to score a run against the dominant Rays pitching. Enter Justin Masterson, who proved to be a stopper as the Indians avoided the sweep by returning the shut-out favor to the Rays in dominating fashion, winning 13-0.

Right-hander Trevor Bauer made his Indians debut on Saturday though is performance was less than spectacular as he walked seven batters across five innings of work. Mark Reynolds hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th inning off of Toronto reliever Sergio Santos to give Cleveland a 3-2 victory at the Rogers Centre. Akron starter Paolo Espino combined with two relievers for a three-hit shutout Tuesday night, as the Aeros claimed a 3-0 victory over the Trenton Thunder in the first game of the Eastern League Finals at Canal Park. With the win, the Aeros (82-59, 4-2) take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Akron had lost the first two games of the previous series against the Bowie Baysox.

Akron starter T.J. House pitched just one inning and Erie designated hitter Tony Plagman had two doubles and an RBI as the SeaWolves beat the Aeros, 5-2, on Monday night at Jerry Uht Park. House (7-4, 3.72) walked the bases loaded to begin the game as the SeaWolves piled on four in the first.
