Every streak has to come to an end. Even for the Cleveland Indians. Losers of 11 straight, it did not look good for the Tribe heading into Wednesday's third and final game in a three game series with the Minnesota Twins. Thankfully, outstanding pitching coupled with some nice, timely hitting helped the Indians avoid tying a franchise record for futility.

With Ezequiel Carrera and Vinny Rottino's promotions to Cleveland, could that pave the way for Thomas Neal to receive a promotion to Columbus? His numbers certainly suggest so. Also, Jeanmar Gomez has shown two very different sides of himself since being demoted to Columbus? So, which Gomez was on display Friday night? Take a look after the jump...

It might not be the blockbuster deal many fans were hoping for, but the Cleveland Indians were able to make some noise (more like a whisper) before Tuesday's trade deadline. The Indians acquired first baseman/outfielder Lars Anderson from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Double-A starting pitcher Steven Wright.

Night after night, two particular Columbus outfield prospects continue to hit and hit. Their recent streak would have to come to an end sometime, right? What about Friday? Take a look for yourself after the jump.

No one ever said it was easy to be the general manager of a Major League ball club. Just days before the 2012 MLB trade deadline, Indians general manager Chris Antonetti finds himself the subject of major scrutiny as he tried to acquire and arm and bat. But what about the internal options to improve the club that have largely gone ignored? Steve Orbanek opines...

Jacob Lee has been mightily impressive in the early going of his professional career, but on Friday, he might have just had his most impressive start to date. Also, Jesus Aguilar impresses once again, but this time he does it without showing off that home run power. All this and more after the jump.

Strong pitching was on display at the upper levels of the Tribe's minor league system Friday. Jeanmar Gomez made his third start for the Columbus Clippers. When we last saw him with the Cleveland Indians, he seemed to show a lack of confidence, but was that the case on Friday? Read on to see.

Nick Weglarz is some kind of hot of late at Double-A Akron. Dare we say he is back? Felix Sterling has really struggled of late with Low-A Lake County. Has his prospect value taken a tumble? Stevie-O highlights both players and more in another edition of IPI's original daily look "Around the Farm"...

It was another busy night around the Indians farm system as all six stateside affiliates were in action. Jesus Aguilar had a big night with two homers and just missed on another by a foot, Cody Allen looks like he could be Cleveland bound at any moment, Thomas Neal continues to show a renewed power stroke, and lots more. Steve Orbanek pinch hits for Jim Pete to recap last night's action "Around the Farm"...

For the second straight day, a left-handed starting pitcher threw seven scoreless innings at Jerry Uht Park Wednesday. Only this time, it came from the game’s other contingent. Erie SeaWolves pitcher Jared Wesson pitched seven shutout innings en route to a 2-1 victory over the Akron Aeros. It was a reversal of fortune for the Aeros, who earned a win Tuesday behind seven scoreless frames from starter T.J. McFarland.

Double-A Akron outfielder Jared Goedert is tearing up the Eastern League as he leads the league in almost every offensive category. Steve Orbanek shares the latest details on how Goedert is performing, how the move to the outfield is going, and what kind of future he may have with the Indians.

Is there a more polarizing figure on the Cleveland Indians right now than outfielder Shin-Soo Choo? Ubaldo Jimenez has gotten most of the attention as Most Disappointing Indian, but Choo has been just as disappointing, if not more. Steve Orbanek wonders if the old Choo from 2008-2010 will surface this season, or if the one from 2011 and at the start of the season is what we will get.

Who’s on first? The 2012 MLB season is just 23 games old, and it seems as if Indians fans would love to answer that question with anyone other than Casey Kotchman. While Kotchman looks like he is locked into the position at least for another few weeks, Steve Orbanek says it is time to look at possible short term and long term options from within the organization.

Another start. Another underwhelming performance. And thus another sad chapter in the story of Ubaldo Jimenez as a Cleveland Indian. Last night Jimenez faced the Kansas City Royals in his fourth start of the 2012 campaign and once again there was not much to like. But Steve Orbanek thinks it is still too soon to give up on Jimenez and that he may still come around.

Steve Orbanek makes his IPI debut with a look into Double-A Akron catcher turned first baseman Chun Chen. After a breakthrough 2010 campaign a lot of people were excited about his potential with the bat at a premium position, but with his recent change to first base, Steve wonders what kind of Major League future Chen has.
