We've officially reached the stretch run. With just six games left to play in the 2013 MLB season, the Cleveland Indians' record sits at 86-70, and the team is in possession of one of the two Wild Card spots. It may be hard to believe, but the Indians actually control their own destiny moving forward. Things are certainly looking up for the Tribe and a lot of that has to do with the team's brilliant performance this past week. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps the week that was in the weekly IBI staple, Notes From the Wigwam.

With just nine games left in the season, the Indians now have a legitimate shot at making the postseason. Remember the last time we were here? In case you forgot, it was back in 2007, and the Indians came within a game of clinching a World Series berth. This current team may not be as highly regarded as the 2007 version, but as we've seen in the past, once a team makes the playoffs, anything's possible. How does this year's squad stack up to the 2007 one? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he ponders that thought in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

The Indians had an outstanding week as the team went 5-2, including a four-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox, to move just a half-game back in the American League Wildcard race. Everything seems to be going well for the Tribe as Jimenez continues to dominate and even Asdrubal Cabrera is showing some life at the plate. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he looks back at the successful week that was in the latest edition of Notes From the Wigwam.

Fresh off a 14-3 win over the Chicago White Sox, going into play on Friday the Cleveland Indians remain 1.5 games back in the American League Wild Card race. Many seem to keep waiting for the Indians to fall off, yet that time has not come as the Tribe continues to prove the naysayers wrong. It will take a lot of luck and some good play for the Indians to clinch a playoff berth in these final two weeks. Can the team accomplish that feat? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he opines on the topic in the latest edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

Of all the Indians' offseason acquisitions, Yan Gomes has arguably had the most unexpected impact. He was initially thought to be an afterthought in the Esmil Rogers trade, but he has since cemented himself as key member of the Tribe's roster. Gomes has been so good, in fact, that he could be on his way to becoming a Major League everyday catcher. But could his ceiling even be higher? Do the Indians have a potential star on their hands? The IBI's Steve Orbanek ponders that notion in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians just endured a very difficult week as the team went 1-5 to fall to 7.5 games back in the American League Central Division. Despite the poor performance, the Indians remain very much alive in the AL Wild Card race as the team is just 3.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays. Could this be the week that the Tribe begins its playoff push? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he looks back at the week that was in his weekly Indians notebook, Notes From the Wigwam.

With September callups around the corner, one of the possible names being discussed is infielder Jose Ramirez. Ramirez has had an excellent 2013 campaign with the Akron Aeros, and there seems to be a belief that he could immediately help the Major League club as a utility man... But what if he can be more? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he discusses that very notion in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians are coming off an outstanding week as the team went 5-1 and is currently just 1.5 games back in the AL Wildcard race. After weeks like that, it's hard not to believe as the team even won a couple of games that they probably should have lost. Nonetheless, things are now looking up for the Tribe, which is especially positive considering the tough week ahead. Before moving on to this week though, join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he takes one last look at the week that was in Notes From the Wigwam.

With the Indians just 2.5 games back in the AL Wild Card race, it's clear that this season is far from over. The Tribe will likely stay in contention all through September and a big reason for that is the team's starting rotation. The rotation has been especially impressive, and while it's played a key role in the team's success this year, it will probably play an even bigger role in the team's chances for contention in future years. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he ponders that thought in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

Playing on the road in the MLB is never easy, especially playing on the road on the West Coast, but that is unfortunately the type of road trip that the Cleveland Indians are on right now. The Indians struggled against the Oakland A's this past week, and the team will now face another opponent out west in the Angels. The games will be pivotal as the Tribe remains in the thick of the Wild Card chase. Before tonight's contest though, join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps the week that was in Notes From the Wigwam.

While no Indians prospect has seen his stock grow more than Danny Salazar this year, unfortunately no Indians prospect has seen his stock fall more than right-hander Trevor Bauer. Bauer has been somewhat of an enigma as he's struggled with consistency and does not seem to be the near-finished Major League product that the Indians thought they were acquiring. How should the Indians handle him moving forward? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he chimes in on the subject in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

The Indians have been a streaky team all season, but they unfortunately chose the wrong time to go on a losing streak as a 1-6 week left them seven games behind the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central. In addition to the numerous losses, the week was magnified by the loss of right-hander Corey Kluber to the disabled list. Yep, it was unfortunately one of those weeks for the Indians that we all would like to soon forget. Before moving forward though, let's take one last look at the week that was and join the IBI's Steve Orbanek for his weekly notebook, Notes From the Wigwam.

Despite losing in extra innings, Tribe fans are still buzzing over Danny Salazar's start on Wednesday. The right-hander was electrifying as he struck out 10 batters in over seven innings of work and nearly earned the victory. With his recent success, Salazar has now cemented himself as the team's top pitching prospect, and he is also arguably the team's top pitching prospect in years. The Indians are fresh off one of their best weeks of the season as the team went 6-1 and swept a four-game series against the White Sox while also winning a three-game set against the Marlins. With last week out of the way, all attention is now turned to the big four-game series against Detroit, which is set to begin tonight. Before that though, join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he looks back at the Tribe's successful week in the IBI staple, Notes from the Wigwam.

Two of the hottest players in the Indians' farm system continued their hot streaks on Saturday as Bryson Myles' hit streak moved to 16 games while Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched one of his best games of the season. Also, Akron's Jesus Aguilar continued to show signs that his power may be returning as he hit his third home run in eight games. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps these performances and more as he takes you Around the Farm.

The MLB Trade Deadline has come and gone, and it ended up being a quiet trade season for the Indians as the team only acquired left-hander Marc Rzepczynski. Some fans had been clamoring for other moves, but Tribe General Manager Chris Antonetti ultimately decided to make the safe move, which could be better for the long haul. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he discusses the Indians' approach at the deadline in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians had a successful week as they are currently on a four-game win streak and coming of a three-game sweep of the Texas Rangers. Despite the strong performance, the Tribe was unable to gain ground on the Tigers as Detroit also had a strong week and went 6-1. Nonetheless, the Tribe now has momentum again that they'll look to carry into this week. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps the week that was in his weekly notebook, Notes From the Wigwam.

While Mahoning Valley and the AZL Indians were rained out on Saturday, the rest of the Indians' minor league affiliates were in action and there was plenty of action to recap. Second baseman Joseph Wendle had just the latest impressive night in what has turned into an impressive season while Trevor Bauer was on the mound for the Clippers. Carlos Moncrief and Ronny Rodriguez also had nice games for the Aeros. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps these performances and more as he takes you Around the Farm.

The MLB Trade Deadline is less than a week away, which means that there are plenty of rumors as to what the Cleveland Indians should do. Everyone seems to have their own take on who the Tribe should go after, but it's evident that the team is in need of an upgrade. Mark Reynolds has struggled immensely over the past few months, and the IBI's Steve Orbanek returns to Orbiting Cleveland this week to opine that the Indians need to acquire a professional bat to replace Reynolds.

The Cleveland Indians went through a rough patch this past week as the team lost its series against the Kansas City Royals and also dropped the first two games of a four-game series against the Tigers. The bullpen struggled mightily and played a big role in the Indians losses, and there now seem to be some major pitching questions moving forward. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he looks back at the week that was in the weekly IBI staple, Notes from the Wigwam.
