It was pretty much the perfect setting for a key divisional matchup between two teams who were both neck-and-neck in the standings and right within grasp of the first place spot in the AL Central. Well, Detroit leaves town back in first place while the Indians try to figure out what hit them before heading back out on the road. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on being swept by the Tigers.

Most Tribe fans are familiar with the local minor league clubs within the Indians organization, which include the newly rebranded RubberDucks. However, it may surprise many that Akron actually has a rich and full history in the great game of baseball that dates back nearly as far as America's Pastime itself. Well, Ken Babby may be well on his way to writing the next chapter in the city's baseball heritage. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he details the revamping of a franchise and a community.

It's precisely games like this that make baseball the greatest sport of all time. Nick Swisher had about as bad a game as a hitter could have, let alone one being paid $15 million a year. In his four at-bats during regulation play, the Tribe first baseman struck out three times and incurred the wrath of many fans. A long drive to right field made everyone forget about those first four at-bats. The IBI's Jake Dungan recaps another dramatic Tribe victory.

After losing four in a row, the Indians managed to salvage their road trip with two straight wins to put them back at the .500 mark and maintain their position in the standings. Nick Swisher was the hero on Sunday as he put the Tribe ahead in extra innings with a solo home run. It was Swisher's first RBI since returning from the DL and his first homer since going deep against the Athletics on May 16th. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps the Tribe's fifth extra-inning victory of the season.

Consistency continues to elude the Indians even now in mid-June. Just when it looked like they were getting locked into a groove after sweeping their last home stand and taking two out of three in Texas, they have suddenly lost their way once again in Kansas City and now Boston. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps the Tribe's third straight loss and gives an update on the team's potential All-Star representatives.

Baseball is a funny game sometimes. Less than a month ago, the Indians were in dead last in the division with a seemingly insurmountable 10.5-game deficit between them and the first-place Tigers. Now they sit alone in second place well within view of the Motor City Kitties' rearview mirror at only three games back. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps Sunday's slim 3-2 Tribe victory in Texas.

A phenomenal home stand ends with a bang as Asdrubal Cabrera becomes the latest walk-off hero with a three-run line drive homer in a late-night duel between the Tribe and Red Sox. The Indians complete not only the three-game sweep of the reigning World Series champs, but also the sweep of the home stand overall. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on another Tribe victory.

The Indians are slowly but surely making up ground in the division as they have now climbed out of the cellar and passed up the Royals for fourth place. They are now within two games of the Twins and White Sox and six games behind the division-leading Tigers after completing a three-game sweep of Colorado on Sunday. The IBI's Jake Dungan recaps the victory.

In this era of pitchers blowing fastballs by hitters with triple-digit velocity, it's refreshing to see a hurler not blessed with a power arm find success through the actual art of pitching and that is exactly what left-hander T.J. House did against the White Sox on Wednesday night. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he breaks down the lone bright spot from a tough series in Chicago in a special off-day edition of Second Thoughts.

On Sunday, Josh Beckett managed to turn the clock back a few years as he threw Major League Baseball's first no-hitter of the season for the Dodgers. Trevor Bauer also had a glimpse back in time, but the memory wasn't so pleasant as he tossed over 100 pitches in only four and a third innings. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on a 4-2 loss as the Tribe settled for a series split in Baltimore.

Maybe 13 has become a new lucky number for the Indians. On Thursday, they racked up their fourth straight victory an their second consecutive win in 13 innings of play as they overcame more poor defense to defeat the Orioles 8-7. Carlos Santana, Michael Brantley and Lonnie Chisenhall were among the key contributors in the win. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps the victory.

It was almost the same story every game. The Indians would take an early 1-0 lead, but that advantage would be short-lived as the A's bats roared back to not only take the lead, but put some distance between them and the Tribe on the scoreboard. 11-1, 6-2 and 13-3 were the finals of the three games with Oakland on top in every one. The IBI's Jake Dungan gives his thoughts on the sweep.

The Indians have now won three straight series after taking the finale of their three-game set against the Rays. Strong starting pitching and just enough offense has attributed to the Tribe winning seven out of their last 10 games. The IBI's Jake Dungan gives his thoughts on Sunday's victory, including Tomlin's strong start, Morgan establishing himself as a key contributor and the first post-Axford save opportunity.

The Indians have had plenty of great pitching as their starters have compiled a sub-2 ERA during this seven-game span. The Tribe managed to win five games and take both series, but one could argue that they could be on a seven-game win streak right now. The lineup made up for lost time on Thursday, however, as they pushed nine runs across in a charge led primarily by Cabrera and Brantley. The IBI's Jake Dungan gives his thoughts on the win.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... Perhaps Dickens was prophesying Sunday's game between the Indians and White Sox with those words. Either way, it encapsulates the resounding joy followed by sheer frustration and heartbreak felt by Tribe fans that afternoon. Kluber and Kottaras made history, but Axford couldn't finish the job. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the loss.

For the most part, it was an "it could be worse" type of start for the Indians. They had problems on the pitching staff, the offense and the defense, but still managed to keep their heads above water. However, whatever momentum they had when they headed west completely dissolved as the Tribe dropped six straight. The IBI's Jake Dungan looks back at April for the Tribe.

There's no use sugarcoating it. The Indians headed west with a nice little hot streak under their belts winning four out of their last five games and three straight in a key division battle against Kansas City. Unfortunately, that momentum fell flat once they set foot in AT&T Park. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps a frustrating end to a disappointing weekend in San Francisco.

Be forewarned, this analysis will be giving a lot of love to Indians right-hander Corey Kluber as he tossed his first big league complete game against the Royals on Thursday during the midday finale of the four-game set. Tribe hitters also finally managed to break through against Royals lefty Bruce Chen. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the Indians' rubber match victory.

The Indians have been in a kind of funk where they needed a game where almost everything clicked to help them relax and breathe easier. On Sunday, the pitching still had some issues, but the offense worked pitch counts, drew walks, got on base and, most importantly, didn't try to do too much with runners in scoring position. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps a big Easter Sunday win.
