One of the busiest Winter Meetings in the history of the league-wide get together has come and gone, but for the Indians, the flurry of activity may have made the trip to the road to the top of the AL Central that much more difficult. While they might have started things off with a bang acquiring Brandon Moss, the Indians were rather quiet for the rest of the meetings while the rest of the AL Central kept incredibly busy. The IBI's Hayden Grove looks at the current lineups for all of the AL Central teams and ranks them.

So far in his offseason series, the IBIs Hayden Grove has concentrated on keeping things within the Indians organization. All of the necessary steps he has outlined for the Indians to make a run at the 2015 World Series have involved players currently under contract with the Indians in one way or another. But all of that changes in today's piece as he shifts his focus toward a few players outside the organization which he things can help them next season.

If the newly extended Terry Francona enjoys anything more than managing in Cleveland, we all know that it’s his bullpen. Like a bag of candy - or in Tito’s case, a container of Dubble Bubble - Francona reached into his bullpen as often as he wanted in 2014 and for the majority of the season, that was a beneficial practice for the Indians. The IBI's Hayden Grove looks at the bullpen setup for the Indians going into 2015 and what they need to do - if anything - to make an already strong unit stronger.

Corey Kluber had a breakthrough season and is a one of the top two favorites to win the AL Cy Young award. But the IBI's Hayden Grove believes that in order for the Indians to be a more consistent team next year and to make a push for the AL Central title, the Indians need a few arms to step up and solidify the number two and three spots in the rotation. He explains in his latest...

Jason Kipnis' good 2013 season earned him a big contract extension earlier this season and it looked like he would be one of the key cogs to the lineup for years to come. But his performance went backwards this season and now the decision looks to be a regrettable one for the Tribe. For the Indians to take the next step next season and get back to the playoffs, the IBI's Hayden Grove believes getting Kipnis back on track and healthy is a big key.

The Indians are home this postseason for a variety of reasons. The offense was too inconsistent. They had too many down years from key cogs in the lineup. The injury bug bit them too much. The bullpen had trouble protecting late leads. But the one reason that stood tall above everything else was their awful showing defensively as they were the worst fielding team in baseball in 2014. The IBI's Hayden Grove looks at the defense and why it is a key area to improve going into 2015.

When the Indians brought in Terry Francona, Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn during the offseason two years ago, it changed the course of the franchise. Year one was a step in the right direction. Year two was a step back. Which brings us to the winter before year three, a pivotal one for the Indians. The IBI's Hayden Grove begins his series looking at what the Indians need to do to become a winner next season, and the first step is getting those big acquisitions from two years ago back to form.

Indians first basement Nick Swisher completed a rehab appearance at Double-A Akron this week and was activated by the Indians on Thursday in Boston. But the impression he left on the players in Akron and the sincere love of the game he shows was something to take in and witness firsthand, which is exactly what the IBI's Hayden Grove did. He sat down and talked to Swisher about his Akron experience and more...
