A year in the minor leagues can bring many surprises as players can struggle in some areas and succeed in others. It is the refinement in those strengths and the development of their weaknesses which determines the fate of most prospects, and for outfielder Tyler Naquin that is no different. The IBI's Tony Lastoria recently sat down with him and discussed his season, what he wants to improve, and what he ultimately needs to do to get to the big leagues.

The Arizona Fall League was off for the final Sunday of their season, but several Indians were in action out in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. It was a day of highs and lows on Saturday. Right-hander Paolo Espino put forth his best outing of the offseason in Venezuela while right-hander Will Roberts put forth his worst outing of the offseason in Arizona. Center fielder Ezequiel Carrera struggled at the plate while center fielder Tyler Naquin flourished once again. 2013 was a year of change for Tony Wolters. At the tail end of spring training a little over seven months ago he was pulled into the Indians offices in Goodyear, Arizona and received word that he would be making the switch from the middle of the infield to catcher. Indians starting pitching prospect Joe Colon made his winter ball debut on Thursday night and put forth an exceptional effort with five very strong innings. Jesus Aguilar was in the news tonight and surprisingly not because of his bat. The Tribe slugging prospect got his first start over at third base on Wednesday. In Arizona, Tyler Naquin had a rare 0-5 night while Jake Lowery reached base three times. The IBI's Michael Goodman reports all the action in Around the Farm.

Amazingly, the 2013 Arizona Fall League season wraps up late next week. It has been a little more condensed version than in years past, but it still has given players from all 30 organizations a chance to face some of the best talent in the upper levels of the minors for five weeks. One player who has benefited from that exposure has been right-handed pitcher Will Roberts, and the IBI's Tony Lastoria recently talked to him to see how things are going.

It was another huge night for Indians outfielder Tyler Naquin who is destroying the AFL. He has made a few really positive signs over the past week where he has increased the frequency of extra base hits and continued to limit strikeouts, a develop that the IBI's Michael Hattery touches on. A total of five Indians players were in action in the Arizona Fall League on Wednesday, but it was the debut of one player in particular which great to see as right-hander Tyler Sturdevant made his long awaited return to competitive game action after offseason shoulder surgery last year.
