Hoping to get their first win of the season, the Columbus Clippers took on the Indianapolis Indians in a Saturday double header. The attempt fell short as Columbus lost both games. Brett Brach pitched a solid game two, finishing four innings without giving up an earned run, but still found himself tagged with the loss.

After a rain out cost the game yesterday, the Columbus Clippers were taken into extra innings to open their 2014 season. Clippers' starter Trevor Bauer pitched admirably, but the offense could not generate enough runs to earn the team a victory. The Indianapolis Indians found a way to win the game, while only recording four hits on the evening.

There are more than two million Little League baseball players in the United States. Of that two million, 25,000 will play at the collegiate level and 1,500 will be drafted. The odds of breaking into professional ball are slim. The odds of becoming a professional ballplayer and a published author are even slimmer. Somehow, Justin Toole has managed both before the age of 30. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with the Indians prospect to get his thoughts on his new book and his 2013 season.

Like with all the awards so far, this is 100% based on performance and not on prospect standing. Tony lists all of the top performances and narrows it down to three players who all had fantastic seasons, and his pick as the top player may come as a surprise.
