A one-out RBI triple from Tyler Naquin in the bottom of the eighth would bring the RubberDucks within one run of Altoona, but the Curve would respond with another run in the top of the ninth to stay ahead and seal a 5-3 victory.

With another season here, the IBI's Tony Lastoria digs up an article which has been a site favorite for a few years. He talks about the decisions teams make with their prospects and the way they are handled which provides a good idea of how a team values each player in the organization. If you pay attention to how a player is used and how they are moved, you can get a good feel for their prospect value.

When it comes to prospects, everything is easier when the top guys are performing the way they are supposed to. Such was the case Thursday night as top prospect and shortstop-in-waiting Francisco Lindor put on a show for the RubberDucks. Though, as Jim Piascik cautions, just because Lindor is highly rated and has a strong reputation does not mean he is ready for Cleveland just yet. Join Jim as he breaks down Lindor, looks at how Carolina starter D.J. Brown is seizing his opportunity, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Jose Ramirez, power hitter? The International League has been kind to Ramirez so far in 2014, as the infielder has put on an uncharacteristic power show. But Ramirez reminded us of the other parts of his game Wednesday, showing off his wheels and on-base ability. Join Jim Piascik as he analyzes Ramirez's night, Dorssys Paulino's talent shining through in Lake County, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

After giving up eight runs through the first four innings, the Akron RubberDucks made a desperate comeback attempt, but fell short as they lost to the Trenton Thunder, 9-5. Tyler Naquin tallied three hits, as did Tyler Holt, but the 12 total hits for the team were not enough to make up for a 1-11 showing with runners in scoring position.

With momentum on their side heading into a four-game set with the Trenton Thunder, the Akron RubberDucks were looking to stay hot and gain some ground in the Western Division of the Eastern League. Following back-to-back nights in which the pitching staff blew leads, the momentum has officially faded and the RubberDucks have dropped the first two games of the series. On Tuesday, Akron held a lead through seven innings, but the Thunder put up three runs in the bottom half of the lead to secure a 4-3 victory.

Four Trenton pitchers combined on a three-hitter against the Akron RubberDucks Monday night, as the Thunder claimed a 5-2 victory in the opening game of a four-game series at Arm and Hammer Park. Lefty Jeremy Bleich (2-2), whom the RubberDucks beat last Wednesday at Canal Park, earned the win, tossing 5 1/3 innings, and allowing just a pair of singles and two unearned runs. Bleich walked two and struck out four. He retired the side in order three times.
