So how does one pit a player from the 1940's against a star from the 1920's or 1990's and how do you have a pitcher compete with an outfielder? Well you can't - at least not in real life - but you can in the fantasy world of OOTP baseball. And that's what IBI history buff Rick Lamborn did to determine the best Indians player of all time with a gigantic 128-player tournament. He explains the tournament and previews the first round in his latest....

Right now as we prepare for this year's wild card one-and-done games or even one-and-done tiebreaker play in games, it's interesting to note that the Indians are not foreigners to this experience (while most of us may not remember). IBI history guru Rick Lamborn takes us down memory lane to 1948, the last year the Indians won a World Series, and recalls how the Indians had to go to Fenway for a one game playoff to determine the AL pennant and get into the playoffs.

Tribe fans filled the Terrace Club last Saturday for a special luncheon to celebrate Rocky Colavito’s 80th birthday. The IBI's DJ Sebastian was was fortunate to be in the audience to participate in the festivities, and provides all the fun and countless stories he shared throughout the event. There is no doubt that The Rock is still much loved in Cleveland.

Cleveland is proud to be home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But there is another Rock that is revered by many lifelong Cleveland Indians fans. This Saturday, the Cleveland Indians will honor Rocky Colavito, on the date of his 80th birthday. This gesture is not only appropriate, but long overdue. The IBI's DJ Sebastian reminisces about Colavito and why he had such a big impact on fans during his time in baseball.

The year was 1871. The country was in the shadow of the Civil War and General Grant was in the White House and what some consider the first Major Leagues was founded.
