Building a Wahoo Winner: Bolster an already good bullpen
If the newly extended Terry Francona enjoys anything more than managing in Cleveland, we all know that it’s his bullpen. Advanced metrics confirm Kluber as the right choice
In 2010, the Indians acquired Corey Kluber in a three-team deal that sent Jake Westbrook to St. Louis and Ryan Ludwick from the Cardinals to the Padres. San Diego would give the Indians a 24-year old pitcher still trying to navigate through Double-A and who struggled to find himself for a few years, but has evolved into one of the best pitchers in the game. The IBI's Michael Goodman explains how advanced metrics show Kluber had a historic season for the Indians and was not only deserving of the Cy Young award - but that he may even get better.
