Around the Farm: November 19, 2014
In order to make a minor league team work, you need players who are willing to move around the field and not be an everyday starter. One of those players for Cleveland is Audy Ciriaco, who logged significant time at first base, second base, third base, and shortstop for the Columbus Clippers in 2014. Ciriaco recently re-signed with the organization, and as Jim Piascik recaps while taking you Around the Farm, celebrated with a big night down in the Dominican Republic.

Nick Swisher is a big name going around the hot stove lately, with reports out that Cleveland could be looking to move the soon-to-be 34-year-old in a bad contract-for-bad contract swap. Red Sox may make a good trading partner with Indians
The Boston Red Sox had a rough year after their World Series win in 2013, but the talent is clearly there. The IBI's Jeff Ellis believes there is not a team who has more ready-made talent in or near the majors. They do have issues in terms of depth when it comes to pitching, but in terms of bats the Red Sox are almost two deep with a legit possible starter at every position on the diamond. Building a Wahoo Winner: Bolster an already good bullpen
If the newly extended Terry Francona enjoys anything more than managing in Cleveland, we all know that it’s his bullpen. Like a bag of candy - or in Tito’s case, a container of Dubble Bubble - Francona reached into his bullpen as often as he wanted in 2014 and for the majority of the season, that was a beneficial practice for the Indians. The IBI's Hayden Grove looks at the bullpen setup for the Indians going into 2015 and what they need to do - if anything - to make an already strong unit stronger.

Advanced metrics confirm Kluber as the right choice
In 2010, the Indians acquired Corey Kluber in a three-team deal that sent Jake Westbrook to St. Louis and Ryan Ludwick from the Cardinals to the Padres. San Diego would give the Indians a 24-year old pitcher still trying to navigate through Double-A and who struggled to find himself for a few years, but has evolved into one of the best pitchers in the game. The IBI's Michael Goodman explains how advanced metrics show Kluber had a historic season for the Indians and was not only deserving of the Cy Young award - but that he may even get better.
