The Indians have announced today that right-handed pitcher Mitch Talbot has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain retroactive to July 9th. They have recalled outfielder Ezequiel Carrera from Triple-A Columbus and he will be with the team in Baltimore tomorrow.

It was learned a few days ago that Triple-A Columbus right-handed starter Jeanmar Gomez would not be attending the Triple-A All Star game in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday night. The thought was that the Indians were keeping him out of the game in order to call him up shortly after the start of the second half.
