Indians acquire Asencio from Braves
The Indians made a small trade on Thursday as they acquired right-handed pitcher Jairo Asencio from the Atlanta Braves for cash. With the Indians still looking to fill two spots in the bullpen and many of the candidates currently in camp not impressing this spring, the Indians went outside the organization to potentially fill that need.

Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 28th
The Indians had another camp day yesterday at minor league camp where all the players were present at the facility for a light morning workout and then participated in three very short intrasquad games before breaking for the day shortly after noon. The pitching dominated yesterday as the four full season affiliates threw a combined 17.0 shutout innings and allowed just 5 hits. Also, Eric Berger starting? It may happen.

2012 Indians Top 50 Prospects: #3 Dillon Howard
We are down to the final three prospects in the 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown, and coming in at #3 is right-handed pitcher Dillon Howard. He has yet to throw a professional inning, but Howard has the aptitude, talent, and stuff to become a a very good #2 pitcher for the Indians down the road. Tony provides all the details on this talented right-handed pitcher.

Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 27th
Some sad news from Indians camp today as the Indians released seven players. Tony discusses the releases and also provides some insight on who may be next. Also, he recaps the four minor league games from Tuesday and provides all the stats and details on how each player did, and discusses a possible Beau Mills position change.

We debut a new feature on the site today, one of many coming your way with the start of the new season just a week away. This new feature is a weekly video show that will highlight one Indians player in the organization with an on-air interview including some footage of them in action. For the debut of the show this week we are joined by top middle infield prospect Tony Wolters.

2012 Indians Top 50 Prospects: #4 Nick Hagadone
The 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown rolls on with #4 left-handed pitcher Nick Hagadone. Last season Hagadone really made some huge strides with his command and is now squarely in the big league bullpen mix this season. Tony looks at what he worked on last year to get where he is today and how much of an impact he can make to the Cleveland bullpen.

Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 26th
The Indians had a camp day yesterday down in minor league camp, but they still held two six-inning intrasquad games and also played an extra game with the Reds with their lower level guys. Tony recaps all three games in today's update, and the highlights from yesterday came from pitchers Elvis Araujo (pictured) and Kyle Blair, and offensively Tim Fedroff and Dorsyss Paulino had nice games at the plate.

Jones hoping to get to Ohio this year
Indians outfielder Hunter Jones has been in Arizona for quite some time since being drafted in 2010, but he hopes that this season he can get to Ohio and play for Mahoning Valley or Lake County. Tony spoke with him out in Goodyear to see how things are going with his transition to the outfield and how he is preparing for the upcoming season. One that he hopes ends somewhere in Ohio.

2012 Indians Top 50 Prospects: #5 Tony Wolters
The 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown rolls into the top five with #5 shortstop Tony Wolters. The Indians have a lot of promising middle infield prospects, and Wolters is one of the best. He is young and still developing, but is already a very good defender with good potential with his bat. Tony provides the info on Wolters with why he is one of the top young players to watch in the Indians' system.

Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 25th
The Cleveland Indians minor league affiliates played their spring games against the Reds' affiliates yesterday, and Tony recaps all the action from the four games on Sunday. Highlights from the game include big days offensively from Chun Chen (pictured), LeVon Washington, and Jesus Aguilar, and on the pitching front T.J. House, Brett Brach and Danny Salazar shined.

Allen could be on the fast track
Indians right-handed pitching prospect Cody Allen made a huge impression last year. Not only did he perform exceptionally well at four combined stops last season, but more importantly he has the stuff to back it up. Tony talked to him out in Goodyear recently, and feels he has jumped squarely into the bullpen prospect picture and could be on the fast track to the big leagues.

2012 Indians Top 50 Prospects: #6 Chen-Chang Lee
The 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown moves on to #6 right-handed pitcher Chen-Chang Lee. Also known as C.C. Lee, he has become an immediate impact bullpen arm that the Indians can use at some point this season at the big league level. Tony describes what kind of reliever he is and what kind of impact he can have in the Cleveland bullpen now and in the future.

The Indians held two intrasquad games on Saturday morning pitting Columbus-Akron and Carolina-Lake County against one another. Tony recaps all the action from both games and provides some thoughts on how some positions are shaking out. Highlights of the day came from Dwight Childs, Scott Barnes, Bryce Stowell, Will Roberts and others.

The 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown rolls along with #7 outfielder Luigi Rodriguez. As one of the fastest and most athletic players in the system, Rodriguez has exciting potential as a top of the order hitter. He is raw and inexperienced, but the abilities are there in all phases of the game. Tony looks at where he is in his development and where he can go as a prospect.

Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 23rd
After a day off from game action on Thursday the Indians' minor leaguers were back in action with five games on Friday and Tony recaps all the action from each game. Highlights from the games include big offensive performances from Thomas Neal, Karexon Sanchez, Cord Phelps, and Kyle Bellows, and on the pitching front Eric Berger, Steven Wright, Michael Rayl and Robbie Aviles pitched well.

Last season Adams blazed his way up the prospect rankings, literally, as he touched 100 MPH with his fastball and the potential to be a solid a middle of the rotation starter or at worst a good bullpen arm in the big leagues. Washington ready to rebound
Indians outfielder LeVon Washington did not have a very good season last year, but several things may have contributed to that. Tony talked to Washington this past week and he feels he is healthy and ready to go this year....and Tony believes it after some things he saw first hand. Tony also provides the first batch of releases from minor league camp.

The 2012 IPI Indians Top 50 Prospect countdown continues with #9 shortstop Ronny Rodriguez. In his professional debut last season Rodriguez showed a lot of raw ability both as a defender and hitter, and if his plate discipline ever comes around Tony believes he has the potential to become a special player.
