With the Arizona Fall League taking their normal Sunday off, it was slim pickings for Cleveland Indians' prospects. Eric Berger was still able to throw out his best start of the winter league season, and Hector Rondon continued to rebound after a tough start. The Indians farm hands continued their winter league progression with another rather light night of play. Highlighting Saturday night's baseball was another return of sorts for one of the Tribe's top ten prospects. The Indians have a massive undertaking in front of them if they are to win in 2013. Their current roster needs to find new consistency, their starting rotation needs to find new blood, first base, DH and left field need to find new residents, and the team as a whole needs to find a new culture? Can it happen? It's easier than you think. The only question is, will the Indians have the guts, if not the cash, to do it?

The 2012 Rule 5 Draft is exactly six weeks from today. The draft will be held on December 6th in Nashville, TN and there are lots of interesting Indians minor league names that are up for roster protection. While there are few if any slam dunk roster decisions this offseason, there are a lot of players that could get consideration and be plucked from the Indians system in the draft. The World Series kicked off last night, but there were other games going on involving professional baseball players out in Arizona, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Jesus Aguilar's struggles continued last night, Alex Monsalve is still adjusting to more advanced pitching, Matt Packer is on the mend, and old friend Vidal Nuno continues to impress in winter ball. Fresh off an Eastern League Championship, the Akron Aeros made more waves on Wednesday when they introduced new owner Ken Babby. The 32-year-old Babby is the owner of fast Forward Sports Group and will replace former team owners Mike and Greg Agganis.

New Indians manager Terry Francona is still working through the interview process to finalize his coaching staff for the 2013 season. Other than Sandy Alomar Jr and Brad Mills, it is unknown as to what other coaches will be joining his staff. The most important decision Francona makes probably is who comes in to be the new pitching coach, and Adam McGavin chimes in with his thoughts on that and lists several potential candidates that Francona may be considering for the job.
