Akron Insider: 2012 season review

Baseball is a funny game and can often be hard to predict. This is especially the case in the minor leagues where wins and losses often are not truly indicative of the talent on a roster.

The Double-A Akron Aeros were a prime example of that this season. They lacked much star power in terms of high profile prospects as they opened the season with really no Top 15-20 prospects in the organization. As the season wore on some high profile prospects found their way there (Danny Salazar and Jesus Aguilar) and some turned themselves into Top 20 prospects (Giovanni Soto). But this was a team filled with a lot of minor league veterans that have been around awhile and fringe prospects looking to make a name for themselves.
