Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of yesterday’s performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday’s game.

Anthony Gallas (Aguilas del Zulia, RF) - 3-5, 1 2B. 1 RBI, 1 K - Gallas gets hits on back-to-back nights for the firsttime this winter in what we all hope is a sign hat he is out of his early offseason funk. This is by far his best game in his short winter campaign to date and is great to see.

Jesus Aguilar (Leones del Caracas, 1B) - 2-5, 1 R, 1 K - While bereft of the RBI which are Jesus' signature, this was still a solid game for Aguilar who saw his season slash line increase to .296/.344/.470, largely on the strengths of a recent solid run of form that has seen him post a last 10 slash of .318/.348/.432 with 6 RBI.

Ryan Battaglia (Brisbane Bandits, DH) - 0-4, 2 K - Battaglia has his first hitless night in a coiuple of weeks (admittedly, the ABL only plays on weekends and last weekend was Brisbane' bye week).  While this might be a sign of relapse into something closer to his early season form (I highly doubt we'll ever see another stretch from Ryan as bad as how he started this Aussie season), it is too early to panic based on the results of one bad game.

Will Aguilar ever be able to hit at the MLB level? He has had limited time to adjust or settle in so far, and what we've seen hasn't been impressive.
