Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of yesterday’s performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday’s game.

Anthony Gallas (RF, Aguilas del Zulia) - 3-6, 1 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 1 K - Anthony extends his hitting streak to three with hits in six of his last seven, a period which has seen him hit .462 (12-for-26). After a very cold start his first eight games (3-for-25) he has been on fire of late with the noted .462 batting average over that time and multi-hit games in four of his six games.

Roberto Perez (C, Indios de Mayaguez) - 0-4, 1 K, 1 E - Roberto continues to struggle as of late.  His last 10 slash line is now only .074/.265/.111 with 1 RBI.  This is not a good sign in a crucial offseason for the Tribe's backup backstop.  Not crucial in a way where his performance hurts his 2015 chances with the Indians, but crucial in that he is getting a chance to play everyday and needs to take advantage of it.

Antonio Romero (RP, Leones del Escogido) - H (1), 1 IP - The Cuban defector (who, due to current political events, may no longer be a defector by the time he reports to the Valley of the Sun this spring) nearly has a perfect inning, but sees Gigantes del Cibao right fielder reach on a throwing error by Leones third baseman Francisco Contreras.

Ronny Rodriguez (starting 2B, Estrellas Orientales) - 0-2 - Ronny-Rod has an uneventful night before being replaced by defensive sub Jean Batista in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Dorssys Paulino (backup CF, Estrellas Orientales) - 0-2, 1 K - Dorssys' winter ball debut is similarly lackluster, the main difference in Paulino's case being that he was the defensive substiution (for Derrick Robinson, also in the fifth).

Tim Fedroff (backup RF) - 0-2 - The free agent replaces starting left fielder Jon Weber for the second straight night.  Not sure if this is related to Weber's injury from the previous night.
