Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in offseason winter ball leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Carlos Santana (Leones del Escogido, starting 3B): 0-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2 BB.  While he failed to get a hit, Santana's plate discipline allowed him to get on base twice, scoring a run and driving in another.  The more notable story, however, was that Carlos had an errorless night at third.  While it would have been nice to see him get a hit, this was a solid night for him, all things considered.  He is listed as the "starting" 3B because he left the game for a pinch runner in the top of the ninth inning.

Tyler Sturdevant (Criollos de Caguas, RP): 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R (1 earned), 3 K, 1 HR allowed.  Sturdevant has a bit of a rough night, but some of that is due to the seven guys behind him.  Also, it had little to no bearing on the outcome of the game as the Criollos entered the ninth inning, which Sturdevant pitched, with a comfortable lead.  Also notable about this outing was that all three of the outs Tyler recorded were strikeouts.

Ryan Battaglia (Brisbane Bandits, starting C): 0-for-0, 1 RBI, 1 BB.  Battaglia picked up a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the first inning and was replaced by Mitch Evans behind the plate to start the top of the second.  Hopefully this is not injury-related.
