Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Tuesday November 16th:
  • Jason Kipnis - DH, Peoria Javelinas: 2-for-4, R, 2B, RBI, K. Kipnis with his 5th straight multi-hit game, and 6th in his last 7 games. His recent tear has him up to .288/.333/.630, which is incredible considering where his batting average was just a week ago.
  • Cord Phelps - 3B, Peoria Javelinas: 3-for-5, 2 R, HR, RBI, E. Phelps now hitting .382/.489/.579 in 18 AFL games. He has 7 multi-hit games in his last ten games, 6 multi-hit games in his last 7 games. What an amazingly hot finish.
  • Jose Constanza - CF, Toros del Este: 1-for-4, SB. Constanza back in the lineup in the Dominican Republic for the first time in 10 days, likely the result of an injury. Hitting .412 in eight games with 5 stolen bases.
  • Matt McBride - RF-1B, Gigantes del Cibao: 2-for-4, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K. Two more extra base hits and RBI for McBride, who in 21 games is now hitting .321/.396/.654 with 7 HR and 19 RBI. An excellent showing for him so far in the Dominican Republic.
  • Lucas Montero - PR-LF, Gigantes del Cibao: 0-for-0, R. Montero got into the game late as a pinch runner and then stayed in the game in the outfield.
  • Juan Diaz - SS, Estrellas de Oriente: 0-for-0. Diaz was a late game defensive substitution at shortstop and did not have an official at bat.
  • Jerad Head - 1B, Gigantes de Carolina: 1-for-3, 2 K. Head continues to get a lot of playing time with his team out in Puerto Rico. Still a solid .830 OPS and showing versatility playing first base and outfield.
  • Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 1-for-5. Carrera's batting line continues to plummet as he is now hitting .267/.358/.324 in 27 games out in Venezuela. He is still showing almost no power with just six extra base hits (all doubles) in 105 at bats.
  • Nick Weglarz - LF, Leones del Caracas: 1-for-3, BB. Weglarz just 3-for-12 in his first four games out in Venezuela. He has yet to record an extra base hit, though has four walks.
  • Karexon Sanchez - 2B, Leones del Caracas: 0-for-0. Sanchez was a late game defensive replacement and did not record an official at bat.
  • Luis Valbuena - 2B, Cardenales de Lara: 2-for-3, R, HR, 3 RBI, BB, K. Valbuena shows a little thunder with his second home run and fifth extra base hit in 26 games out in Venezuela.
