Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of yesterday’s performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday’s game.

Carlos Moncrief (Aguilas del Zulia, RF) - 0-4, 3 K - Carlos' recent struggles continue with his third straight hitlessballgame.  He is now batting only .152/.200/.212 in his last 10 games.

Roberto Perez (C, Indios de Mayaguez) - 0-2, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K - Not Roberto's best night with the bat this winter, but solid plate discipline makes for a good night at the plate in an offseasdon that represents an important chance for Perez to get significant time both behind the plate and at it.

Jose Ramirez (Toros del Este, starting 2B) - 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 E - J-Ram has a good game at the plate but not so much in the field (admittedly, the error is not much cause for concern as it was only his second in 21 games).  This effort raises his last 10 batting average to .333 (15-for-45).

To be exact, JRam has played 7 of his 21 games this offseason at second base. He has started his last two games at second base and 6 of his last 12 games.

It's been six or seven (lost count going through the boxscores - breakdowns of games played by position are impossible to find for winter leagues) out of 21 with most of the 2B appearances coming recently (last week or two) and it appeared (at least to me) that he leaves games played at 2B early more often than games played at SS.

How many games has J-Ram played at 2B in winter ball?
