Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in fall and winter ball did yesterday. Note, no games were scheduled in the Venezuela Winter League.

Arizona Fall League

  • Tyler Holt (RF, Scottsdale Scorpions): 1-for-4, R. Holt is now hitting a healthy .289 with a .373 on-base percentage this fall in Arizona, and also has a modest 5-game hitting streak. He still has yet to record an extra base hit in 13 games, but has 4 stolen bases and 5 walks.

Dominican Winter League

  • Francisco Cruceta (RP, Gigantes del Cibao): 0.1 IP, 1 H, 2 R (1 ER), 0 BB, 1 K. Remember this guy? One of three players the Indians acquired from the Dodgers in the Paul Shuey trade back in July of 2002 (Terry Mulholland and Ricardo Rodriguez were the others), Cruceta last pitched in the Indians’ organization for Triple-A Buffalo in 2005 before being put on waivers in August of that year and being claimed by the Mariners. He bounced around between the Mariners, Rangers and Tigers organizations from 2006-2008 before signing on and playing for the Samsung Lions in Korea in 2009-2010. He played in a few independent leagues in 2011 and this past season played with Rimini Baseball in Italy. Talk about getting around these past few years!
