Baker Impresses but Tribe Defense Stumbles in Loss

GOODYEAR-The pitching tonight got the job done, while the defense struggled, yet again. Let’s run through the key players and performances in the Indians’ 7-2 loss to the Cubs.

Dylan Baker proved why he was one of the most highly regarded JUCO prospect in the 2012 draft on Wednesday night. The Alaska native threw 3.1 innings on the evening, struck out six—including striking out the side in the 2nd inning—and was absolutely owning the Cubs offense with a fastball sitting between 90-93 MPH followed by his true out pitch, a late biting slider sitting between 85-86. His slider is right there with Mitch Brown’s as the finest and most advanced on the team.
