Captains take second straight win against Bowling Green

EASTLAKE - After a 6-5 victory on Saturday night, the Captains took another victory over the Hot Rods on Sunday, winning 6-3. This gives the Captains a 2-0 series lead over Bowling Green. 

The Captains started early, grabbing four runs in the second and two more in the bottom of the third. The first two runs were from the Captains having two walks with bases loaded to start things off. 

The Hot Rods tacked on two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but they couldn't add anymore runs the rest of the game, until the top of the ninth. With two outs, the Hot Rods grabbed another run, but couldn't grab the victory. 

Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin started for the Captains, throwing 50 pitches in another rehab start from Tommy John surgery. He pitched two and one third innings, he allowed one hit and struck out three. Dylan Baker came in to relieve Tomlin, he pitched four and two thirds innings, allowing five hits, two runs, two walks and struck out four. Grant Sides came in to relieve Baker and close out the game, and he got the save. 

Blake Snell started on the mound for the Hot Rods, he pitched four and a third innings, allowing five hits, six runs, walked five and struck out five. Matthew Spann came in to relieve Snell, and pitched two and two thirds innings, allowing two hits, one walk and struck out one. Jose Molina came in for Spann, pitching one inning, striking out two. 

The Hot Rods finish out their three game series on Monday against the Captains, the game is set for 7pm.
