According to reports, Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez is being investigated by Rocky River police for drug possession. No official arrest has been made, and it is believed to be for possession of marijuana.

Details are still coming in but the Indians have released the following statement:

“Earlier this morning we were made aware of a situation involving right-handed pitcher Chris Perez that occurred yesterday in Rocky River,” Cleveland Indians GM Chris Antonetti said.  “We have talked with Chris and are currently in the process of gathering additional information.  We will not have any additional comment at this time.”

Perez is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder injury. He also recently deleted his Twitter account after a severe backlash from fans after his recent struggles, a backlash that stems from his calling out the fans last season for poor attendance. In 16.2 innings this season he has a 4.32 ERA and is six for eight in save opportunities.

Indians fans should be given all the drugs they want as we have to watch these bums get rolled by the big boys year after year. Great series in New York guys!

They gotta have a no drug/no alcohol mentality if they're going to respect the game and play it well. Maybe they should do a little prayer circle or something in the clubhouse before games and ask the great Wahoo to lift the obsession for drugs and alcohol and to purify their meandering spirits and focus their consciousness on the joy of the game. I'll go start it if they ask me...

That picture is ironic because he looks a little stoned. It's not surprising, though. Citing his fight with an Oakland A's fan last year, this guy isn't very mature.
