The Clippers lost their fourth straight game as they dropped a 6-2 afternoon contest to the Toledo Mud Hens.

The Mud Hens would jump out to an early 1-0 lead on a Danny Worth two out RBI double down the right field line. The Clippers would come right back and tie it at 1-1 when Matt LaPorta drove in Lonnie Chisenhall with an RBI single to left field.

Columbus would take the lead in the bottom half of the third. Carrera, Cord Phelps, and Chisenhall all singled to load the bases with one out. Matt LaPorta would then deliver for his club, driving in a run with a bases loaded walk. Unfortunately, that's all they would get in that frame as Chad Huffman grounded into a 1-2-3 double play to end the Clippers scoring threat.

The 2-1 Clippers advantage would be short-lived as Brad Eldred tied it 2-2 by unloading a solo shot to the AEP Power Pavilion in left field on a 3-0 David Huff pitch. The Hens would tack on three more runs in the same inning when Worth came in to score on a Matt Young single to left center and Audy Ciriaco laced a 2 run double down the left field line.

Toledo would put together another big inning in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Danny Worth grounded into a fielder's choice where Columbus was able to get an out at home. Unfortunately for Columbus, the throw to first hit off of Worth's back. The play allowed Ryan Strieby to score, making it 6-2 Mud Hens. It would be all Toledo would get Jerad Head to ground into an inning ending 6-4-3 double play.

Despite an Andy LaRoche two run shot in the top of the ninth, Columbus was never able to mount any sort of a rally as they only managed two hits for the remaining five innings.Casey Crosby (2-2) was rewarded with the victory for Toledo. Huff (0-1) was hit with the loss for the Clippers.

Columbus will have an off-day on Thursday before beginning a four game series at Huntington Park with the Pawtucket Red Sox. The Clippers will send right-hander Zach McAllister (1-1, 3.52) to the hill. He'll go toe-to-toe with Red Sox right-hander Ross Ohlendorf (3-0, 3.06). First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 pm.
