Rochester - The Columbus Clippers split a doubleheader with the Rochester Red Wings on Saturday night losing the first game 3-0 but winning the nightcap 1-0.

The Clippers started right-hander Corey Kluber (4-5) in game one and Rochester jumped on him early with two runs in the first inning.  Left fielder Wilkin Ramirez doubled on a fly ball to center field allowing shortstop Pedro Florimon to score.  Later in the inning first basemen Chris Parmelee hit into a fielders choice bringing in Ramirez.

In the sixth inning Rochester scored their third and final run of the game when Ramirez hit an RBI single to right field.

Kluber finished the night going six innings and allowed three earned runs and had four strikeouts.  He picked up his fifth loss of the season.

Runs were at a premium once again in the nightcap. Lefty Chris Seddon got the start and went 6.1 shutout innings and allowed six hits and one walk while striking out seven. Righty Chris Ray pitched the last two thirds of an inning for the save, his ninth of the season.

The only run of the game came in the third inning when center fielder Ezequiel Carrera led off the inning with a walk. With two outs designated hitter Jared Goedert singled and pushed Carrera to second, and then right fielder Chad Huffman singled Carrera home.

Both teams will play again on Sunday at 1:05 PM EST.
