COLUMBUS, Ohio –– The Columbus Clippers were shut out by the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs, 4-0, Monday evening.

Zach McAllister put up a quality start for the Clippers going six innings and letting up two runs (one earned) on five hits, but was still saddled with the loss.

The Ironpigs jumped on the board in the second after a scoreless first.Former Clipper Russ Canzler drilled a double to right field to lead things off. A sac-bunt moved Canzler over to third, putting him in the perfect position to score on a sac-fly for Lehigh to take a one run lead.

McAllister ran a tight ship up until the fifth when the Ironpigs struck again. A lead off single followed by a walk put runners on the corners with no outs. After fanning two McAllister let up a single bringing home a second run for Lehigh Valley.

Bryan Price took over the mound in the seventh and kept the Ironpigs at bay until the eighth. After giving up his first hit, a single to center field, Canzler went yard to left field for the two run homer, to put the Pigs ahead 4-0.

After winning four in a row the Clippers have dropped their past two contests. Columbus's till remains at the top of the International League west standings with a 65-58 record, four games ahead of second place Indianapolis.
