Defensive issues plague AZL Indians in 7-3 loss

PHOENIX - The AZL Indians pitching and defense struggled again last night as the team dropped another game, 7-3 to the AZL Athletics.

Left-hander Matt Packer started the game on his rehab assignment and pitched a scoreless inning, and should be back up in Akron in no time. Estevenson Encarnacion relieved Packer in the 2nd inning striking out two and walking one, and his ERA on the season sits at 3.18.

Then came the trouble as top pitching prospect Dillon Howard entered the game in the 3rd inning and though he only allowed one earned run he surrendered five in all on five hits and two walks. Howard did look better than his Opening Night debut (3 IP, 4 ER, 1 HR, 4 H, 2 BB) but nonetheless was still topping...
