The Columbus Clippers game was rained out and will play a doubleheader tomorrow. The Lake County Captains had the day off.

Aeros squeak by

In what could be considered a relatively quiet game, it was a scoreless game going into the bottom of the sixth. However, that would change.

Jerad Head led off the inning by hitting a double to left. Then, with two outs and Head at second, newly promoted, Matt McBride, drove a single to to left field, scoring Head. Nick Weglarz followed that up with an RBI single of his own, giving the Aeros a 2-0 advantage.

Akron gave up a run in the seventh, but that's all they gave up, as they held on to win a close one by the score of 2-1.

Starter Josh Tomlin (4-1 3.82) went 6.2 innings, allowing five hits and only one earned run. He also struck out eight, while not walking a batter.

Kinston comes close, lose 3-2

Starter Eric Berger was great early, but Wilmington unleashed three straight singles to load the bases in the top of the third inning. Berger did damage control, allowing only one run in the inning, a RBI ground out from Wilmington
