Indians place Raburn on DL, recall Holt
The Cleveland Indians today announced they have placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day Disabled List with right wrist soreness, retroactive to August 18, and have recalled outfielder Tyler Holt from Triple-A Columbus.
Raburn has been battling soreness in the area most of the season and aggravated it on Wednesday, August 13th after his diving catch vs. Arizona (game 2). For the year he is hitting .191 (36-188) with 3 HR and 21 RBI in 70 games for the year. Today marks his fourth career stint on the Major League DL.
Holt begins his fourth stint with Cleveland in 2014, the last of which came from August 10-16. He is 5-for-13 (.385) with Cleveland in 6 games/3 starts. Combined on the season between AA Akron and AAA Columbus he is hitting .305 (107-351) with 74 runs scored, 19 doubles, 2 home runs, 30 RBI and 31 steals in 37 attempts. Among Tribe Minor League players he is leading the system in steals, is 2nd in runs scored and 4th in batting average.
