On Wednesday the Indians announced that they have signed 5th round pick prep left-handed pitcher Sean Brady and 37th round pick second baseman Garrett Smith.

Brady reportedly signed for $800,000, which is $452,900 above the $347,100 recommended slot for where he was picked. The Indians have now signed five of their nine bonus pool picks and have spent $4.53 million of their $6,118,800 bonus pool.

With the signings, the Indians have now signed 16 draft picks. More players have agreed to terms, as noted in our signing updates this week, so a few more signings should be announced over the next few days.

I knew Quinn was nearly unsignable...though I still held out hope. Crowe was also unsignable and i had no hope on that one. Though, I had hope on both Plutko and Brown. You think we get Plutko, Tony?

Remember that you can go over the bonus pool money by 5% before losing a draft pick (you just have to pay a tax). If I'm doing my math right, that means the Indians have $1.89M left to spend. And it seems like there's a few guys that are worth going over a tad for (Crowe, Quinn, Plutko, Brown) that might warrant a little dip into that 5%.

Our draft strategy just plain sucks donkey balls. Poor thought process and execution. Each year in this regime sets us back 2 years compared to smart teams who know how to identify and develop talent.

Indians had no shot on Quinn. He is pretty locked into college.

Man...there goes any hope of getting Quinn or Brown....hopefully Plutko signs, but that Brady signing puts a dent in that too.
