The Cleveland Indians have officially signed two more players from the 2013 Draft to minor league contracts. On Thursday they announced the signing of 14th round pick outfielder Silento Sayles and 18th round pick shortstop Paul Hendrix.

Sayles is a prep outfielder with tons of speed who will be a project for player development to develop his other skills. He will likely go to Arizona and play in rookie ball his first season to help his transition to pro ball. Hendrix is an older player that the Indians actually drafted out of junior college last season but did not sign and should fill a starting shortstop or second base role for short season Mahoning Valley or at least be a utility option for them.

Love the signing of MS HS OF Silento Sayles. I know none of us have seen him play but one can hope that he turns out to be our version of Billy Hamilton. Sayles has tremendous speed.
