The Indians have signed another minor league free agent, infielder Dan DeGeorge out of Princeton University. He has been assigned to the Indians short season Single-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers team.

Here is the official press release from the Princeton Athletics website:

Recent Princeton baseball graduate Dan DeGeorge recently came to terms with the Cleveland Indians as an undrafted free agent. DeGeorge was assigned to the Indians Short Season Class A affiliate, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the New York-Penn League. DeGeorge becomes the third Tigers to begin his professional career this Spring.

DeGeorge is the fourth Tiger in the past five seasons to latch on with an affiliated Minor League team after not being drafted in the Major League Baseball Draft as a senior. He joins Brian Kappel (2005), Erik Stiller (2006) and
Steven Miller (2008). Only Stiller is still playing professional baseball. He is currently with the Indians
