Lake County Insider: 2012 season review

Low-A Lake County had an amazing season that fell just short of exceptional since they did not win the Midwest League championship. Had they gone and done that, it would have gone down as one of the single greatest minor league seasons for an Indians affiliate in some time. Sure, they only went 71-68 on the season, which on the surface looks pretty average, but there was a lot more to that and things that go beyond the record which is why the season was so amazing.

Lake County went just 31-38 in the first half of the season and at the beginning of the year they had a lot of youth as they were the youngest team by far in the league averaging just 20.3 years of age. The league average was 21.6 years of age, so they were well below that,...
