As expected, the Indians made made several roster moves today throughout their minor league system. With the start of the second half for the full season Single-A teams and the start of short season leagues, this is usually a time where there is a lot of movement. With that in mind, I felt it best to recap all of today's activity below:

To Double-A Akron: Right-handed pitcher Tyler Sturdevant and designated hitter Jeremie Tice transferred from High-A Carolina to Akron.

To High-A Carolina: Right-handed pitchers Cole Cook and Grant Sides transferred from Low-A Lake County to Carolina.

To Low-A Lake County: Left-handed pitcher Kyle Petter transferred from High-A Carolina to Lake County.  Second baseman Jose Ramirez transferred from short season Single-A Mahoning Valley to Lake County. Catcher Patric Tolentino and outfielder Jordan Casas both activated on Lake County roster.

To short season Single-A Mahoning Valley: Infielder Robel Garcia transferred from Low-A Lake County to Mahoning Valley. Infielder Joe Sever expected to be activated today (not official yet).

To rookie level Arizona: Right-handed pitcher Nick Pasquale transferred from short season Single-A Mahoning Valley to Arizona.

Other transactions: Right-handed pitcher Toru Murata placed on Double-A Akron disabled list on June 19th with a left calf strain. … Infielder Nick Bartolone placed on Low-A Lake County disabled list on June 19th with a right ankle sprain. … First baseman Beau Mills traded to Cincinnati for cash on June 21st. … Outfielder Ben Copeland released from Double-A Akron.

Great comments I totally agree, and actually he is now a Vice-President! Ridiculous, the "Good ol boy" network going on. This is why we have been to the playoffs 1 time under Shappy in 10+ years despite being in what is considered annually a mediocre division

I will ask one more time, Why Is John Mirabelli still employed by the Cleveland Indians??

@Tim: I don't remember that at all. I remember Heyward leaning strongly towards college unless drafted by his hometown team. It was confusing because he was supposedly heading to Georgia Tech to stay home, but then signed a letter of intent with a west coast school.

If I do remember correctly, Mirabella didn't like what he saw in Jason Heyward's hitting approach and elected to select Beau Mills. Brad Grant's working double overtime to make up for this Team mess ups but those failed moves could cost an entire Front Office, their jobs.

Yep, Sever is in Mahoning Valley already. Nothing new on White and Suarez than what I reported yesterday. As for Garcia, yeah, maybe a change of venue will help get him on track....he was definitely overwhelmed at Lake County.

Beau Mills traded? Thanks Mirabelli for another outstanding first round flop. What a joke his drafts have turned out to be. Still employed by the Tribe. Nice. He couldn't judge a kids coloring contest.

Hope Garcia bounces back in MV and gets himself ready to open in Lake County next year. With the huge number of guys on the Captains under 20, someone will inevitably struggle and turns out it was Garcia. I'm glad the other guys are at least holding their own.

Great to hear Joe Sever might be coming to Mahoning Valley. Any signing updates on Walker White and Benny Suarez?
