Today the Indians activated catcher Lou Marson from the 15-day disabled list and optioned catcher Yan Gomes to Triple-A Columbus.

Marson had been on the disabled list since April 9th stemming from an April 6th collision at home plate in St. Pete vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.  He has appeared in 2 games so far this season (0-0, 2 BB). He will resume backup catching duties and is in the lineup tonight against the White Sox.

Gomes hit .211 (4-for-19) with a triple, 2 homers & 3 RBI in six games for the Indians. He will go to Columbus to play every day in order to finish off his development and be ready when a need arises later this season and to potentially become the backup catcher next season.
