News on Offense:
Bryson Myles’ batting average continues to rise after another strong performance this week. He batted .375 (9-for-24) with two doubles, five RBI and two stolen bases. The sixth round pick out of Stephen A. Austin in Texas is currently batting .281 (which is fourth on the Captains) and currently has a four-game hit streak.
Jerrud Sabourin continues his breakout season with another fine week at the plate. Sabourin batted .435 this week with two doubles and six RBI. He currently owns a five game hit streak and is third on the team in average at .302 (behind Jose Ramirez and Jordan Smith). Sabourin also leads the team in hits with 108 (which is a tie for ninth in the Midwest League).
Hitter of the Week: Jose Ramirez
Ever since he was called up to Lake County, all Jose Ramirez has done is hit. Ramirez recorded a 4-for-4 performance this past week and bumped his team leading average up to .338. Ramirez also stole four bases and scored five runs. He has been a spark plug at the top of the Captains lineup and very well may lead them into the playoffs.

News on Pitching:
It’s old news now, but Indians right hander Roberto Hernandez made his stateside debut last Thursday and pitched well. He went five innings and allowed one earned run (three runs total) on six hits. He struck out four White Cap batters. Hernandez is going to make another start at Lake County this coming Sunday.
2012 draft pick Nick Pasquale made his Captains debut on Saturday night versus the Dayton Dragons. He went two innings and allowed one run on one hit (the hit was a homerun). Pasquale started his professional career with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers this past June and was sent down to the Arizona League team a few days into the season. Nick is the second 2012 draft pick to be added to the Captains roster (Louis Head was the first).
Pitcher of the Week: The entire pitching staff
It was hard to choose just one pitcher of the week because the ENTIRE staff was outstanding this week. They had a win-loss record of 6-1 with four saves and a team ERA of 2.21. A very impressive week by the entire staff.
