RubberDucks complete sweep of Curve, 8-straight wins
The RubberDucks cranked out ten hits and four doubles in Sunday's 5-4 win.
ALTOONA, PA – Akron RubberDucks first baseman Ronny Rodriguez smacked a two-out, opposite-field double in the eighth inning Sunday, driving in the, eventual, winning run in a 5-4 victory over the Altoona Curve at People’s Natural Gas Field.
The win completed a four-game series sweep for the RubberDucks (18-11), and extended the team’s winning streak to eight games. Akron is now 7-2 on the season against Altoona, with eight more games coming up against the Curve this month.

Akron starter Joe Colon didn’t figure in the decision, but threw well, going five innings and allowing just one run.
The RubberDucks got off to a fast start against right-hander Nick Kingham. Jordan Smith smacked a RBI single in the second inning for a 1-0 lead. In the second, Joe Wendle delivered a two-run single, and Wolters added a sacrifice fly as Akron built a 4-0 lead.
